I did charge all my portable batteries last Friday, so at least I had that. My stove is gas and I have a gas fireplace. But my power is back!

The temperature was hovering at the freezing point all day. We've got a little bit more than twelve inches of snow and it's tapering off, so we're going to come in at the low side of the forecasts -- that's fine with me.

For the next few days the high temps should be in the 40s with god sun, so the now won't be around for too long. But it's going to be a bother digging out tonight so my son can get to work tomorrow.

They watch the squirrels as if they're creatures from space and they do attempt to chase them; but to my knowledge, they've not actually encountered one.
The cats chase each other lots, sometimes round the garden and at other times round the house. It's especially annoying if it's been raining (like now) and they haven't been outside - then they spend much of the night WHEN I'M TRYING TO SLEEP! chasing one another round the house and up and down the stairs.
Cats are lots of fun.

It was cold, damp and overcast all day. The "wintry mix" started about 2 hours ago. It's spposed to change over to snow tonight, with up to three more inches due, but the temps will never really fall below freezing, so it's going to be more "wet cement" snow and more trees and power lines may come down.

Third nor'easter in two weeks moving in tonight, with a prediction of 12" to 18" of heavy wet snow and high winds. So long as there's no power outage I can cope with being marooned for a couple of days, but that's a big "if." Just as I thought we'd dodged it last Thursday, everything flickered and went out. And again on Friday.

I'm charging up my devices and power packs and will crank up the heat overnight, which is entirely unlike me as I tend to keep a cold house. I'm a bit like Scrooge, to adapt a quote; chilliness is cheap and I like it. It's why God invented sweaters.
