Ok ghosting seems to have disappeared on all devices with FW 3.16.0 except on Glo...

FW 3.15.0 is a real disaster on my Aura. Never buy a Kobo again. The only working firmware was 12.1 back then.
I'm very disappointed for a months now. I can't read couple of pages without pinch-zoom bug. And in fact pinch to zoom option is always disabled on my device. The screen freezes forever. It's a real shame. After months now yet there isn't any correction from Kobo.
The most oddly and stupid fact is with every newer firmware things are getting worse. It would be funny if it wasn't really pitiful.

Have you tried to do a factory reset and after reinstall 3.14 (and why not 3.16.0 directly) ? developers have done a beautifull work with all those firmwares and I'm very surprised to see all yours setbacks .

Oh yes, many times indeed! Nothing matters. Even few times installed 12.1 which is fine firmware. But in the moment I connect to wifi to sync my bookmarks update hits and I get the latest shit/sorry for this word but its only explanatory word in this case/ 15.0
Never tried 3.16.0 because I don't to brick my devise. In the 3.16.0 download page its "not released for Aura".

Phd3, perhaps your problem comes from hardware...

I've got a idea : ask people (why not here !) to send you a image (I want to mean "disk imaging" but sorry, I don't know how to explain it in english) of a Aura ; perhaps it will be the solution.

The Aura does not have internal SD card slot, high risk of bricking it doing such things. And as long as Factory Reset still works, there should be no reason to use a disk image (unless you deliberately messed with the recoveryfs).

If the touchscreen is wonky, the sketchpad might reveal it.

minimal ghosting, it is there, but most of the time when it occurs it is just in the middle of the page where the txt is fainted a bit..it is workable..

On the normal Glo it is heavvy, that's why I keep it at 13.0.
Solution is "simple" from my point of view, do a refresh when the reader comes out of sleep,and when one of the option screens is used.

Well, to sum to the previous posts, Kobo Aura HD was fine with 3.13 but 3.15, the latest fw, even patched, is a disaster. Images are terribly filled with ghosts, which makes me refresh pages frequently; even worse when I pop up some window, such as dictionary or annotations. This is a PREMIUM READER ; it is not supposed to have ugly images. If the fw doesn't correct these bugs I will go for Nook or Kindle... It would be less expensive and I could throw it away if it didn't satisfy me.

I've got my Aura HD on 3.16.0 and the ghosting is not bad (just a little). You should try that one.

Yes. I have 3.15 patched with LEANAndMEAN activated. It clears the ghosting a little, but it is still not good.

I've never tried 3.15.0 without LeanAndMean. Ghosting is not a problem. But then, I'm using an H2O.

AFAIK, ghosting issues are also related to hardware. The carta and pearl screens will show different results even on the same firmware. Pearl is inherently more prone to ghosting.
