I don't dare become eye candy here! People take things so literally - I'd be running from candy lovers and sugar addicts! In addition to the usual crowd of grill-happy members!

This one will be a little long (although not as long as others that I've read), hence the spoiler tags.

Spoiler:
Had the most unsatisfying service from TELUS today (not counting to last I was in the store before that). A couple weeks ago, I sent in my Motorola Milestone for repair. I also told the rep that these were the problems that the phone had experienced:
  1. Overheating
  2. Upper layer of keyboard falling apart due to overheating
  3. The headphone jack was loose

I then handed him the complete phone minus the battery cover and battery but with the 16GB memory card that came pre-installed when I first got the phone.

Earlier this evening, while at work I got a call (which I didn't answer), a voice message, and text message all to tell me that my Milestone was ready for pickup. I went there on my break to pickup the phone (thankfully it was a slow day at both stores). When I told the rep (the same one who I submitted my Milestone to for repair) about the pickup, he asked if I had the battery and cover with me (which I found odd).

First thing I did was to inspect the phone to see what work the repair technician did. I found that the 16GB card that originally shipped with the phone or rather installed in the phone, was nowhere to be found. When I remarked on this fact, the rep merely shrugged. He then bought out the forms for me to sign stating that I got my phone, blah, blah, blah which I then signed, before thanking him for his help and leaving the store and heading back to work.

When I got home this evening, I closely inspected phone this time, making sure that the problems I had been experiencing had been fixed. The keyboard has definitely been as should the overheating problem (I hope). The headphone jack however is still loose, which when coupled with the fact fact that a) The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 which I got for free performs better than the phone I paid nearly $300.00 for brand new (and doesn't overheat while doing so), b) Motorola could care less about the end-users of their products, c) That I could have done the rep's job better than he could with a more engaging attitude (I work in the Electronics department in my store) and you can bet that I was and still am pissed.

So that's my rant. I hope you don't have the same trouble I do with your chosen carriers and phone manufacturers.

P.S.: Think I waxed poetic enough on my gadgets kindlekitten?

I'd have stopped the ride at the missing SD card. The original Droid/Milestone's keyboard was the dealbreaker for me when it first came out; my brother bought a used Droid and got a Droid 2 keyboard for it afterward. I got the Droid X and though Moto has had quality issues in the past (my Sprint Razr from 4 years ago is still in my desk drawer) I have to say I've been happy with mine. The jerks at the local Verizon store, not so much. Amazing how much the local help can ruin an experience for you.

A zebra crossing is a road crossing where pedestrians have right of way; i.e. cars have to stop at them to allow pedestrians to cross the road.

Here's one;

You can probably work out why it's referred to as a zebra crossing!

You're right, I should have left it then and there. I can tell you that the reps at that store aren't going to find me in an all too pleasant mood come Saturday. I have today and tomorrow off as well as Sunday and Monday but I'm working on Saturday (WTF?!) so I'm not very happy to begin with. So much for spending quality time with the rest my immediate family. Can't wait until I have my own business where I can work on my terms.
