I hava a Kobo AuraHD with 3.15 and too much ghost images. With the patch provided here and the LEAN and MEAD option I could minimize the problem. Before patching the firmware I got in touch with KOBO support service and they were of no help, suggesting me that I had to do a factory reset (?!). Obviously it would not have worked. So I kept my Kobo with a patched 3.15, but the images are not as good as wih 3.13.

Hi slayerwpww (it's not easy to pronounce !),

Everybody seems to have the same problem of ghosting with FW 3.15 and 3.16... I imagine developpers are working on the next version in order to correct it quickly. We juste have to wait... I hope it won't be too long !!!!!!

Hi akorx.

We are waiting for a good fix. The LEAN and MEAN option in the 3.15 patch improves the ghost images, but do not avoid them totally.

The hint for this release is in the URL: "rakutan". Kobo have stated that this is being released to go with the release of the Glo HD in Japan. They have stated it will only be released in Japan.

If you want to turn you ereader into a Japanese one, all you have to do is go into the language settings and choose Japanese.

There is no difference between the devices released in Japan and elsewhere. There is also no difference between the firmware used anywhere in the world. The only thing that appears different is when it is released. Kobo has a practice of releasing an update when they release a device. And then when they release it in Japan. Anything that is different about this release will be in the next release for the rest of the world.

In any case, 3.16.10 was released to the beta list. I have been using it on all my devices for about a week. The only Japanese specific thing is changes in the dictionaries. The Japanese dictionary is much bigger and there are now two English to Japanese translation dictionaries. I have no idea what the difference is, but they show up in the dictionary lists as "English - 日本語（ジーニアス）" and "English - 日本語（プログレッシブ）". We can expect these changes in the next general release for other devices.

I was trying to be a bit funny here
But, just my 5 cents, reading your part,do you really think that the big dictionary will be distributed in all future versions ??
Or will it be a downloadable version that you have to install ?? I know 4 gig (in case of the Glo HD) is big,but the o.s. will consuming space of that,if every dictionary is already in the firmware and if they really make it bigger in every language,it will consume more and more ??

Could somebody please share the filename of the second English-Japanese dictionary (the other than dicthtml-en-ja.zip)? And also the corresponding entry in the database?
