What is the story behind your avatar? - Page 9

My current Avatar loves to help me see the computer screen

while using Calibre.
She is a Calico Siamese mix (the vet coined Cali-mese) and is quite capable of calling in the reinforcements (the other 3 'mese' cats and the Corgi) if I spend too much attention to the screen

I had no avatar at the beginning, I didn't think it was important, and anyway, I couldn't decide what to put there. But one day in my local newspaper I found this marvelous photograph of my favourite series (Get Smart) two main characters and just knew the search was over!

I got fed up with that meek E.M. Forster face under the turban. I just saw this Sankt Göran och draken in Stockholm and I think it fits my personality better. (Pretending to do a dangerous dragon, while really they are both playing it out). Also Giorgio is my 3rd registered name. My dear auntie, Giorgina, was accompanying my grand father when he went to register me (my father was abroad at that time) and she convinced him to call me like herself. Another dangerous female, but always benevolent with me. So I got the two grandfathers' name, one very Catholic grandmother that gives that cute Maria in second slot and the fancy Giorgio to end the procession. Amen.

It's amusing so see that so many of those avatars have changed from the start of the thread and no longer match the descriptions.

Mine... How often do you see a cat riding on a Great Pyrenees? Gina, the Pyrenees, loved little animals and she and BatGirl were best of buddys. Both gone now and the original full-sized photo was lost in the great harddrive disaster, but I'm glad this little one still exists.

Avatars were the first thing I noticed when I joined this forum, I am a bit of a forum jukie and have been a member of many but this one definetly has the most clever and interesting Avatars of any forum I've been too. I've never used an Avatar in the past but you have all inspired me to start looking for one

This goes on for a while, being issued books and returning them within half an hour, as the "bk, bk, bk" gets more and more despairing.

Eventually the librarian follows the chicken after issuing the latest book, and finds that the chicken is going into the park, down to the pond, and presenting the book to a large frog on a lilypad, who leafs through it for a couple of seconds and croaks "reddit, reddit, reddit". LOLOL just tickled my fancy.

I own 2 vw's currently and numerous ones in the past..the usual term is it's a "VW" so my avatar is vee (v) and dub (beginning sound of the w)
