To clarify, micro-justification changes the spacing between letters as well as between words. |

Because a lot of people like it. Not everyone likes the same thing or there would just be one serif font, one monopsace font, and one sans-serif font.

For a Kindle, reading KF8, you get smaller line height. There are versions with added weight, and added hinting. Last edited by JSWolf; 09-10-2022 at 02:38 PM. |

I swore by Bookerly on my Kobos, used it ever since it came out, tried a few others and went back quickly to Bookerly. Then I saw a post of Jon's and tried Chareink Noweight and the printed page immediately looked so pleasing there was no chance of going back. Not tried to analyse it, but it's brilliant. Try it and if it does nothing for you, move on ![]() |

I also use from time to time Literata, IBM Plex, Merryweather and Georgia and I definitely love Goudy Old Style. Sent from my CPH2021 using Tapatalk |

I’ve tried Chareink it wasn’t for me. I can get more lines in with a modified Literata Book (literally just taking it and adjusting line spacing to an actual standard) and I like the look of literata more in general.
The literata book provided by Google seems to have very odd line spacing values, all I did was set them to a standard I’d found via Google. For what it’s worth bookerly had similar issues. |

It does surprise me that Amazon has made Bookerly worse by removing the hinting that the Kindle needs to properly render Bookerly.

Hi everyone,
The subject of fonts is very important and is a real plus in terms of reading comfort ![]() I have a question about the "Lexia" and "Lexia DaMa" fonts. "DaMa" comes from "Dalton Maag", the creator of the "Lexia" font, so I assume that "Lexia" and "Lexia DaMa" are actually the same, but I'm not 100% sure . Does anyone on the forum have more info on this? Thanks in advance. |
