Amazon

I've had Prime free for two years and just had to start paying for it in October. There is no way I could live without Prime after having it. I started feeling withdraws the first few days and the need to use. I am a happy Prime member once again.

I buy everything from Amazon, including some grocery items. If they ever start fresh grocery delivery in my area, I may never set foot in a store again.

used your link to make a subsearch for scifi/fantasy, and found one that interested me. so turned on the wifi on my kk and typed the title. it had a borrow selection as well as a buy selection, so i chose borrow and in about a minute i had a copy added to my home page listing. not a bad service.

When I go through that list I see the zero price but it is not on the buy button. How does one get it onto the buy button? I did that with my PC. Does it only work with the Kindle, itself?

I am an Amazon Prime member.

ahh...i missed the line referring to the el paso newspaper actually using the entire phrase in 1938.

myself also, mr. olivaw. i've always thought that heinlein originated that phrase containing a reference to a free lunch.

oh well...

Still cannot find Amazon Prime books

I opened my 3rd generation Kindle WiFi and went to the Kindle store. I still did not see a category for Amazon Prime books.

Can I search for them at their website? How does one do it?

Also, I suspect that I would only be able to read them on my Kindle Fire. I usually also read on my PC app and I presume that would not be allowed.

I also have a strong suspicion they will not be available on the Kindle 3 since I saw no category for them there. It looks like it will only work on the Kindle 4 including the Kindle Fire.

There goes that deal.

My earlier post may answer your question:

  • Under Browse, select "See all"
  • Select "Kindle Owners' Lending Library"
It will then show all the books available. There is a symbol to the right of each book.
You can search for the Prime lending books on your computer by using this link, but they have to be downloaded from a Kindle device.

That is correct. The Kindle Owner's Lending Library books can be read only on Kindle devices, not Kindle apps.

That is correct. The Kindle Owner's Lending Library books can be read only on Kindle devices, not Kindle apps.
Thanks for all that advice. It wasn't clear to me before. Here's how I got it working now:

To search for Kindle Library books on the Amazon site: Kindle Edition>Prime Eligible>History

They can only be downloaded from the Kindle, itself, not the PC App.

To access them on the Kindle:

Press the Menu button
Select "Shop in Kindle Store"
Under Browse, select "See all"
Select "Kindle Owners' Lending Library"

I wasn't aware of how to do the search before. Evidently, the ">" key has to be used at the Amazon site. It also wasn't clear how to access them on the Kindle. Now it is. Thanks again.

I went to the Kindle store with my Kindle 3 and borrowed one book. I presume it will appear on my Kindle Fire as well but not be available for my PC app.
