Oh, no it isn't! A single layer DVD-R has a capacity of 4.7GB. I originally guessed 9.4GB, but I was pretty sure that wasn't right and that the dual layer disk had a capacity a bit below double the capacity of the single layer Given your half a gig clue, let's guess 8.5GB |

5. OK, let's have a go at SATA.
The S is certainly "Serial" Could the AT be from the IBM PC AT, i.e. "Advanced Technology"? In which case the final A might be Adapter? Serial Advanced Technology Adapter. (Although really I think I was right with Serial-ATA. No-one using SATA remembers what the ATA stands for, only that it meant a disk interface!) |

Thanks!
Umm… Many English words for nationalities end in 'an' (e.g. German), 'ish' (e.g. Spanish) or 'ese' (e.g. Chinese). List all the English words for nationalities you can think of that don't end in 'an' or 'ish' or 'ese'. One point for each one that no-ones posted before you. |

Yes to both.
Yes (just) to Scotch. Yes to Welsh. No to Netherlander and Hollander. I've never heard anyone use those instead of Dutch. Google gives 200 million hits for Dutch and under 200,000 for Netherlander, most of which seem to be dictionary entries! Yes to Thai and New Zealander. Bilbo 1967: 2 (Dutch, French) issybird: 4 (Scotch, Welsh, Thai, New Zealander) |
