JRR Tolkien and Umberto Eco both have books in KU as well. (Since you mentioned them)

Edit: Thanks Purple Lady, I did not look for every one mentioned.

The LOTR dude; sure. Everyone you named is at the SPL. Turns out that I've seen a couple of movies based on Roth's books, but never read any of his stuff. One surprise is that I've actually read a book by one of the ones you named - Name of the Rose by Eco. Great read and great movie. Still, none of the names register.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is one of the bigger publishers participating in KU. However they appear to offer a smaller catalog in KU than what Oyster has available. A positive step in the right direction but still limited in selection for now. I think that things will improve over time.

Remember the 80s movie The Mosquito Coast with Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren and River Phoenix? Based on the book by Paul Theroux. He's a very famous travel writer. An alternate claim to fame is his nephew, Justin Theroux, is engaged to Jennifer Aniston.

Unfortunately his best-known works are not part of KU. However, they are in my public library and Oyster.

Same if you use the store in the kindle itself - got a KU subcategory with all and only KU elegible books.
I tried doing that. It'll uncheck them as I search. I don't know if that's an Amazon or Safari issue.

I browse based on keywords.

I've heard of Umberto Eco. He wrote "The Name of the Rose" which was made into a movie some yrs back with Sean Connery and Christian Slater.

KU also as Open Road titles, I see Kensington also. Also noticed Sourcebooks.

They also have all the Amazon publishing houses of course and I found some nice titles with them.
You can go to kindle unlimited and see all and then type in the publishers to see what is offered. Browse through the genres of the sites and just add stuff to wishlists if you see something you like
Open Road is the other publisher in KU that has many popular authors and interests me.

I checked a few authors published by Sourcebooks, and the KU catalog looks reduced compared to Scribd. This publisher is not available on Oyster. I borrow from my public library instead.

Good idea about keeping track of books by a wishlist.

Yes easier to remember, but still a click away from where I linked to. I rather put a complicated link in my bookmarks than type a easy link that is still a click away ...
