Yeah, I know . The weather is the reason why we live here. It's less funny in the summer though, when the risk for wild fire is like, huge. Plus the hoards of tourists who seem to think that walking around topless is not reserved to the beach but should be done in town too...

off topic of topless, today was the last day for me to return my PW1. I could have sent it for free via UPS drop off centre, not even far from where I live but, well I decided to keep it. The yellow tint tipped the scales. Battery after yet another charge holds well, nearing second week now. Try hard as I did I cannot and couldn't find any fault in it to send it back. Even suspicious looking pin holes disappeared when I cleaned the screen. And I can't go back to K3 or part with lighted reader, how on Earth was I reading on that murky screen before???

Now I should not come to MR for the next two months if people start singing songs of praise over PW2 so I won't kick myself "what have I done" "I could have" "I should have" yada yada.

Game over.

I definitely think you made the right decision! Even if people sing the praises of the PW2 you'll never know if you truly would have liked the screen you received better. With the one you have, you KNOW you love it! So there you go! Best decision made!

Hi! long time reader first time poster
Yep I'm upgrading to the new paperwhite. It helps a lot that I sold my first gen PW on eBay for $107.
after fees and shipping I still cleared over $90 so it's only costing me $50 to get the new gen. It's due Oct 2 as I signed up for a free month for Amazon Prime. I'm real sensitive to grey backgrounds and less than black text so I think it will be a good upgrade for me.
Just counting the days.. and forced to use my old Kindle Touch.
