I've just had the most lovely time browsing through everyone's photos. So many adorable pets! Allow me to share mine. All are rescues.
My oldest is Scout, a seven year-old Cocker Spaniel who was abused as a puppy. She still has some holdover behaviors like growling when you pet her -- even if she likes the petting. But she never bites or lashes out, and once she learns to trust you she is a loving pup. She has gorgeous long lashes and deep eyes. Poor girl has seen a lot in her time. ![]() I have another Cocker Spaniel named Tucker, who was rescued from a kill shelter the day he was scheduled to be put down. He is only one year old. No one was sure why he was dumped there by his owner, but he is the sweetest, most gentle pup I've ever seen. He even lets our family's smallest dog, Bean (below) win when they wrestle, because he doesn't want to hurt her. ![]() Last but certainly not least, there is the Princess of the Universe, Her Most Venerable Pinto Bean, or just Bean for short. She is a two year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was born with extra toes and a herniated belly button. She had to have surgery as a pup to ensure she could walk correctly. She now skitters around freely, as you can see in this picture! She is the spoiled baby of the household, and Tucker's best friend. She sleeps on her back, legs splayed to the four points of the compass, without a care in the world. I wish I was that carefree! ![]() Hope you like the babies. ![]() |

That's my kitty, his name is Brooklyn. He thinks he's a dog. He plays fetch with his toys (he could play fetch forever if I let him)and he's a big suck, always looking for attention. He even falls asleep in my arms if I cradle him like a baby. I rescued him from a shelter when he was 6 months old. They were actually going to put him down
![]() The puppy is Pepper. I bought her for my mom a few months ago. She snorts like a pig when she gets excited, it's hilarious. She loves eating paper; toilet paper, newspaper, paper plates, etc. She doesn't descriminate. |

Just old age (that's an old pic), though boxers usually go from some sort of illness. Judge had a tumour on the brain which was incorrectly diagnosed by the vet, went blind, starting to run into walls full tilt, and had to be put down. Dredd just got old.

It's very hard to say goodbye. We just lost our 18 year-old Cocker, Katie, last month, to simple old age. It was sad, but I look at it this way -- as long as we remember her, she lives on. Every tail wag is a tribute to her! And, alas, so is every stinky fart. Katie could really lay some whoppers!

It's funny what you remember fondly after a pet has died. My cat Spot developed a permanent sinus nasal "drip" in old age. She used to sit on the headboard above my pillow and lean over my face - with a steady "drip, drip" onto my face, punctuated by massive sneezes. Used to irritate the hell out of me. Now I miss it.

I don't think it's too big, but if you ever have a question about a picture you post, you can always either upload it as an attachment in the advanced posting mode or wrap it in spoiler tags.
Example: This:

Produces this: Spoiler:
