Overall, the me572 Asus has great hardware, but... I had to reset the device a few days ago because web pages(no matter which browser I tried) would load very slow. The reset helped with the browser issues, but today the unit just rebooted after I put it down to go make my lunch. My hd6 that I gave to my daughter loaded web pages faster than the Asus.

I don't know what I should do. This tablet has great specs,but I am concerned about the software issues. I may go back to an hd6 or just go totally different and try an iPad mini 2 for stability.

I love my Nexus 7 and KF6 but my N7 is probably the most stable out of all tablets I have own. I would buy one again in a heartbeat. The Nexus 7 is just that great of a tablet.

Do you have lollipop on it yet? I have read that after lollipop got pushed to nexus 7, the device is not running as well as it used to.

I do have it and no issues other than flash not working. I haven't check to see if that's been fixed though.

If a 7" tablet is what you are looking for, as Blossom says, the 2nd gen Nexus 7 is awesome. I never ever ever have problems with mine, which is saying a lot! And yes mine is running lollipop.

Thanks for posting. It seems the software can't handle the 64-bit hardware. It may be an Android issue.

If you are thinking of a Nexus 7, don't wait too long. It's been discontinued and becoming hard to find.

Amazon still sells them directly. As well as merchants on Amazon.

I changed the launcher(to nova) and the keyboard(touchpad) after reading about others solving the same issues (on that tablet) by changing those apps. It is running great.(at least for the time being) I did a benchmark test with Antutu benchmark app and it ranks very good. This is the last day to make up my mind if I want to return the tablet. I don't know what I am going to do. I am driving myself nuts. I think that once lollipop is on the device, it will be even better, but no one knows when that it happen.

I tend to surf the net, read the news, visit Facebook and blogs, and get emails on mine. I'm not a gamer or a TV watcher and I listen to music on my iPhone and read on my Kindle but I get roughly 10/12 hours use out of my mini ipad. I'm using it now and I'm on 68% with 3 hours 7 minutes usage and 8 hours 44 minutes standby.

I removed the anti glare screen protector from my HD6. With side by side comparisons to other devices, such as my Kobo Glo, the Kobo Glo text looked better. Now that it is removed, the HD6 text is clearly better than the Glo. Amazing what a difference there is without the matte screen protector.

I was considering a tempered glass screen protector, as they are supposed to cut glare without reducing clarity. However, I think I will do what I've done with my Nexus 7 instead: cover the bezel with a matte black skin. It makes a huge difference to me with the Nexus, so I expect the same with the HD6.

So today I took my sheet of skin (a.k.a. notebook skin) and covered the bezels of a kobo aura, a kobo glo, and my Fire HD 6. Results: perfectly acceptable to me! The skin is a matte black with a sort of hash pattern. My devices are a pleasure to read on!
