The current Plato version 0.9.43 does not support the Libra Colour or the Clara Color. I suspect that someone with one of those will have to do the work required.

Does Koreader auto update after it is installed on Kobo device? What is the update process like once new versions are available?

Not automatically, but you can check for updates (and update) from within the program. You can also simply overwrite .adds/koreader with a new zip.

I used to be able to run the install.ps1 file in powershell, but when trying to install the KoReader on my new Kobo Elipsa2e, the powershell installation window shows just in a flash, then disappears. I've unblocked the install.ps1 file. I'm on Windows 11, Kobo firmware 4.38, I'd like to install the OCP-KOReader-v2024.04-227 (I could install it, but Nickle is continuously scanning and indexing all the files). Any ideas?

Couple of things to check is that you have install.ps1 and the OCP .zip file in the same directory and that your Elipsa 2E is connected to the computer. |

I've installed PowerShell 7.4.4 I've entered the path of my install.ps1 file with ".\install.ps1" I get this error message: PS C:\Windows\System32> E:\files\01-soft\kobo\OCP-KOReader-v2024.04-227.\install.ps1 E:\files\01-soft\kobo\OCP-KOReader-v2024.04-227.\install.ps1: File E:\files\01-soft\kobo\OCP-KOReader-v2024.04-227\install.ps1 cannot be loaded. Open an administrator Powershell prompt (run cmd as an administrator and then run powershell from that command prompt or right click powershell on the apps list and then more => run as administrator). From the Powershell prompt, enter set-executionpolicy remotesigned and hit enter.

that did the trick (my mistake was that I kept on trying to work with PowerShell 7.4.4. - after I'd uninstalled it and ran as admin the windows 11 Powershell everything was fine.) Thanks a lot for your help

Sorry for the probably dumb question, but which method allows to completely remove the original Kobo firmware and replace it by Koreader ?

I use Koreader for a while now, via NickelMenu. At the time I installed, I thought I keep the original firmware in case I needed it. But now that I only use Koreader for more than a year, I 'm ready to ditch the original firmware. I have a Clara HD. |

It still works for me on my old device, but with a new device, sadly, I will have to go to nickel first.

I am a newbie here and today, not without struggling (I too had the powershell closing issue) I was able to install Koreader on my Clara BW with the one-click install script (win 11). It seems that everything went well but I have two questions:

	- I used the OCP-KOReader-v2024.07.zip from post #1, is this the latest one or should I update/replace it with the nightly version? I see the nightly last one has today's date (8/18) but I don't think it's updated everyday - what Plato does differently or better than Koreader? If I wanted to install Plato should I do all the procedure again with the one-clic script but using this time the Plato package? My first goal would be to improve PDFs reading that's not great with Kobo's stock software. Thank you |
