I still plan to get the official cover when available. I have no plans to use the stand function and just recently read here on MR that the fold in the cover does not make it floppy. I too have the official Kobo Aura HD cover and it still looks and feels great after 3 years of heavy use, so I'm willing to go the official route again.

Check what Katsunami recently said in the Kobo Aura ONE Third Party Cover thread. It seemed very favorable!

Yep, I read that comment. I've ended up ordering one from eBay, if I don't like it I may eventually get the official one, especially if you end up liking yours

First I have to find the official cover in stock somewhere.....

Best Buy Canada has it, but they don't ship to the USA. I'm checking Kobo & Chapters/Indigo every morning.

Congrats! My cover is somewhere in the DHL/USPS black hole, but the reader has arrived today.

Mine was ordered last week and came yesterday. I want a sleeve, too; even though the reader is light, it's so large that a cover would add a lot of weight.

For Jon: I only ever had the zipper case for my 950 and it survived unscathed even though I read it naked.

Mine was delivered today. Very excited, going to go to bed early tonight and start reading! The sleeve I ordered (Amazon Basics) came today as well. I'm sure the Kobo will be fine. I've never had any of my ereaders break. I am very careful, mostly read at home, and prefer to hold it naked too. The Kobo, not me

My reader has made it to the USA, but tracking seems to have stopped since.... as you say, the black hole, LOL!

Might not help, but have you tried plugging your tracking number into the US Postal tracking system (assuming it started with Canada Post)?

This morning, my tracking (thru Package Buddy Pro app) said my item has arrived at the destination delivery office ... and included my local zip code. As I was excitedly telling my husband this before he left the house for work, he opened the front door and there was the mailman standing in the snow, with my package in hand!

Now the tracking says *Out for delivery*

I'm letting the package come to room temperature before I open ... it's cold outside!

Not bad though, ordered on January 4th, have package in hand a week later.

My official case has been shipped as of yesterday. I'm using an inexpensive Pasonomi cover from Amazon currently, it's OK and the sleep function seems to work well enough, tho occasionally it opens on a page ahead or a page back of where I left off, so it will be interesting to compare the $10 cover to the $50 one.

No trouble with smell here. I mean, it smells like the usual cheap cover with PU leather, but it's faint, and nothing I would notice without actually bothering to sniff the cover. Which, having seen that particular Amazon review, I actually did.

It doesn't always open on the page I last viewed, but so far when that has occurred, it's only been a page off.

As covers go, seems decent enough!

Another day, and still nothing has gone wrong with my Sony PRS-T2, dammit! I'm really unimpressed with the software on this reader, and I'd like a lit screen, but I just can't justify replacing it while it still keeps chugging along...

You are doomed! It's probably gonna chug along for years yet!

I still have my T2, for the rare occasion I want to read a PDF format novel and it's working fine. Didn't let that stop me from moving on to a front lit reader tho....
