Used my Kobo A1 over the holidays and pretty happy with it. It's my first eReader. The refresh thing is a bit of a pain, but certainly not he end of the world. I found that using the Kobo instead of my Surface Pro 4 helped me sleep. It must be the fact that the blue light is taken out.

Now available online again through Chapters. Also now shows two in stock at one nearby store, but no others. Kobo replied to my Facebook message and said the Kobo website would start selling them again in the latter half of this month. I am hoping to get one at the local Chapters store after work, phoning first to make sure they really do have two.

I have an order in from Chapters/Indigo! And a confirmation email! Says delivery should be by end of January, but I sure hope it's sooner than that!

I notice that the Aura Ones come in and out of availability on Chapters website--so it doesn't hurt to check every day or so.

That's what my initial order email also says. I'm hoping that's just kind of a generic estimate but I guess we'll find out!

i ordered online today from Chapters and have an email stating delivery date of January 16th. Now when I look online it says unavailable again, so glad I pulled the trigger this morning. As soon as I get an email confirming delivery I will order a sleeve from Amazon as I prefer to hold just the Kobo while reading. So excited! I have so many books to read lol.

Trust me when I say you do not want a sleeve. The problem is that because the Aura One is larger, there's more glass that can break and a cover will help much better than a sleeve. You should just deal and get used to reading with a cover. You want to protect your investment and a sleeve does a 1/2 assed job as you cannot used the sleeve while reading and that means that while not in the sleeve, the Aura One can be damaged more easily.

Hmm, I'll consider your point. I've always used a sleeve for my previous, smaller Kobos. The thing is, when it's not in the sleeve it is in my hands. While I am sitting down and reading. I got a free case from Chapters with the Glo HD that I lost and while it is quite slim fitting, I still did not like the added bulk or weight.

Thinking about getting https://www.amazon.com/ACdream-Premi.../dp/B01LPLZ9PS. I prefer a form-fitting design, but the Kobo case gets such poor reviews I'm not willing to experiment with the kind of money they're asking for it.

Or maybe http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-Slim-S...-/381822515314. Decisions, decisions…

I was bummed that the official cover was not in stock, but I asked for and got an inexpensive slimfit cover from Amazon for Xmas, so I'm good until the Kobo cover is in stock somewhere. I've yet to break an e-reader, but I find using a cover helps my grip.

I can't wait for the reader to arrive!

@graycyn, I was bummed about the cover as well (using the Kobo cover on my Aura HD), but after reading the reviews of it (granted, only 6 but the highest ranking was 2 IIRC) I decided it was a "good thing"

I think a lot of the reviews were before they fixed the sleep function with an update though.

I still plan to get the official cover when available. I have no plans to use the stand function and just recently read here on MR that the fold in the cover does not make it floppy. I too have the official Kobo Aura HD cover and it still looks and feels great after 3 years of heavy use, so I'm willing to go the official route again.

Check what Katsunami recently said in the Kobo Aura ONE Third Party Cover thread. It seemed very favorable!
