Well, let me explain in more detail what procedure I used to unlock my iPhone 6 Plus in iOS 9.x.x. With Siri deactivated I could simply press my thumb onto the Home button and hold it there until the iPhone unlocked. Notice I used one fluid motion, not two motions. I did not have to first press and release the Home button then second hold my thumb over the Home button. I simply pressed the Home button and continued to hold it depressed for a few milliseconds until the iPhone unlocked. I cannot do that in iOS 10.x.x when Voice Control is turned ON without activating Voice Control about half of the time. Yes, I could momentarily press and release the Home button, then carefully hold my thumb over it a few milliseconds without pressing it again, but that is not the single, fluid motion I've been using for nearly two years. I prefer that single, fluid motion to unlock the iPhone.

Thanks! Okay the second method did work. But what a convoluted work around to have to go through when a simple option to turn OFF Voice Control would do the job. Plus I won't be surprised if Apple mucks up that work around with a future update.

My ipad air 2 is still on the previous ios...9.3.4 I have not updated. I have read the comments here and many more other places when I use google. I seem to come across many negatives regarding this update. So my question is will it do any harm to not update? This is my first ipad, so I have little experience on the pros and cons. People seem mostly concerned on losing the swipe to unlock option. I love the way my air 2 works right now and wouldn't want to mess it up!

You can go into the Accessibility settings and set it so you just have to rest your finger on the button to unlock. For me, if anything, it's more convenient, not less. I've updated both phone and iPad (not immediately, but a little while after release), and haven't run into trouble yet. My third party cables are still working with my phone.

Going back to the old way to unlock my iPhone 6s, I don't toggle Siri or Apple Pay nearly as much as the poorly conceived iOS 10 way.

Man, I absolutely love this continuity clipboard. For years I've been using the process of copying and pasting text into iMessage, sending it to myself, and copy and pasting it again from the other device. Now its just copy, paste, and done!
