Well certainly the iP2 has a camera. That's significant. If I were in the iApple camp I might upgrade too.

Two cameras actually although the resolution may not be a good as I would hope. The front camera is only VGA while the back camera is 720P HD. Hopefully in still mode they can do better but I am not holding my breath. I am not normally in the iApple camp but this one looks promising. I am planning to go for it.

simple question. I know one of the camera's, I suppose it's the "rear" facing camera - the one on the back - has a 5x digital zoom. Do BOTH camera's have autofocus? I know that was a PITA with the Tough 4, the lack of AF I mean.

It will also be interesting how many find that read-facing camera useful after the novelty wears off. I think it has potential but with anywhere from 5-10 DSLR's around here at any given time, I don't need another video option as large as a tablet device. Still the one time you don't have one around will always be the time for that once in a life time shot. haha, it's a law of nature I believe. So why not, these days that stuff costs about 5-bucks including software and installation into the device. Digital cameras like these are a dime-a-dozen.

I think having a camera on a tablet is a waste. Two is a double waste.

The dual-processor is a nice touch, though.

Can't please everyone. The common use for a front-facing camera is for video calls (Apple's Facetime). I don't use it but it seems like a reasonable desire for a portable computing device.

No auto-focus. From the description, it sounds like Apple used the same cameras they put in the iPod touch 4. We'll know for sure after the teardown.

I haven't used my front cam yet. I've used the rear cam; but just for scanning barcodes. I have no desire to take pictures with such a mediocre camera.

I have no desire to take pictures with a tablet <shrug> Webcam will be handy, though I'm finding my phone camera plenty good enough for Skype video calls.

I can see certain areas of buisness where a good camera in your tablet can come in handy such as a Real Estate agent, contruction site, land purveyor, wedding planners and vacation vendors etc To take some snap shops and have already have on your device for your editiing and organization. I mean everything else is becoming singular, for certain jobs this would actually be a nice time saving feature. So basically if you are going to put a camera in at least make it a good one, I mean why skimp out there?

Yep, this sort of thing (tablet computers) is going to be perfect for a number of job types -- Real Estate, mobile service providers/installers, police, delivery drivers, taxi, sales people....

Hmmm ....

I think that it depends of the user. Imagine a realtor, for example. Being able to take pictures and/or do conferences, could be useful for them. There are some professions were the tablet/camera integration is a big plus. A high resolution camera or a very expensive one, is not needed in my opinion, as long as you can accomplish the main goal which is share the image.
