I remember this from back in the 80's, now I hear they are calling it a cleanse, there is a popular clinic here that offeres full body cleanses, you first drink the above concoction and don't eat anything for 7 days, then you go in for a rather unpleasant sounding enema. The best part is, you pay for this "Treatment". Really wish I had come up with that business plan.

I think you are referring to our lovely Horse flies, only insect that can take a pound of flesh! I never did find an efective insect repellent, we would just wear hats with nets that would go into our jackets, the most common place to get bit is on the wrists where the gloves don't cover or the top of your head when swimming in the lake. The worst insects up North were the Noseeums I think they are called deer flies, little tiny buggers that would get in your mouth, ears, eyes and under your clothes if there was any gaps, or at night into your sleeping bag, just plain evil.

Wish I could find one that shows the size better, but that are usually about an inch long (2.5cm) sometimes longer if your are up in the arctic areas in the summer.

It's the warmest day here since the start of spring too! Although there's a lot of wind, which makes it just a bit chilly. But without the wind, in the sun, it's about 15°C

I've seen dissertations go up to 600 pages in Croatia! I have no limitations placed on me by my supervisor, but I will cut it down to try to get rid of redundancies and make the editing process easier on me later.
