1812: The Rivers of War by Eric Flint is currently 99c in the US

http://www.amazon.com/1812-Rivers-Wa.../dp/B003JBI496
https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/eb...-rivers-of-war

Flint acts upon the “what if” premise of alternate history, wondering what the United States might look like with a little tweaking to the War of 1812. As the U.S. battled the British and various Indian tribes, what if the Cherokee and Creek Indians agreed to unite against American troops?

I have this listed as having been in the Baen free library at one point. Make sure you don't already have it before buying. I'm glad I checked.

Don't do that, I thought the book sounded interesting and would have tried it if it'd been free. Just wasn't interesting enough for me to pay for it, but that's mostly me being broke.

But I appreciate everyone who posts deals, whether I take advantage of them or not. Without people posting them, we'd all find a lot less on our own!

Appears to be self-published. (One of the authors is listed as the publisher.) Have you read any of these yourself?

Can anyone tell me what the pedigree of this deal is? Who is putting together these boxed sets? Is it some kind of collusion between self-published authors? Because I don't see a publisher.

The Janet Morris looks to be a spin-off from the Thieves' World series. Tempus appears to be a collection of shorts - presumably including the ones from the Thieves' World anthologies - originally published by Baen in 1987.

That's the only name I'm familiar with.

Edit: Sorry, it's a novelised collection. The stories have all been linked up.

If you recognise Janet Morris as a professionally published author, then I guess she gets the whole collection through the 'self published' filter. Thanks.
