I'm enjoying an afternoon Fortnum & Mason Ceylon. It's a pleasant brew but I think that Japanese import of Ceylon Uva has a much nicer flavor. I'm going to make another cup and have them side by side! Stitchawl |

It's not spring here yet, either. Not even tiny sprigs of crocus are up yet. But they're talking 60 degrees F. for Thursday! Diet dr pepper in my cup (okay, well actually it's in the bottle.)

![]() I'm having a cup of White peach tea, and contemplating another Nespresso. I'm sluggish and easily distracted today, I can't get anything done. |

Busy IT technician day.
So far, a cup of Taylors of Harrogate's Tea Room Blend, a cup of Ahamd's Hampton Breakfast and a mug of Rooibos backed apple+straight Rooibos to lighten up the flavour. Quote:

hmmmm 150 responses. That is impressive.
The dandelions in the front of our house are starting to bloom. Cooper is shedding enough that I could knit a sweater. I can go outside in a fleece and not my winter coat. I would say spring us sprung in my area of the world. A pot of Rooibos Vanilla here. Yummy. |

No! Only 147 from Japan. Three were from outside the county.
![]() Because of the cultural norms of Japan, once a woman is over 25, she's pretty much out of the social scene. There aren't any ways for the over 25 crowd to meet. They don't go to night clubs or discos. Those are for the under 25 crowd. Japanese men say that "women are like Christmas cake; after the 25th they are stale." A single woman over the age of 25 who wants to make new male friends is pretty much out of luck. If they want to get married they contract for an arranged marriage. Even today, 35% of the marriages in Japan are via these arranged affairs through a marriage broker. It's no longer the parents who are setting them up. I didn't put my photo in the advert, nor did I ask that they send one, only that I was looking for someone who was; well educated, had a good sense of humor, enjoyed ethnic foods, loved music and books, enjoyed travel and nature, was interested in making a new friend, and was between the ages of 35-50. I was 43 at the time I placed the ad. I had tried for a year or so to find a way of meeting women, and wasn't having any luck finding them. They work during the day and don't go out in the evenings. I figured I didn't have anything to lose by placing an advertisement. At least 10 of the replies were from women 18-25... Several were from women in their 60's. There were two medical doctors, two lawyers, several business owners, a lot of teachers, one language school director, and quite a few office and shop workers among the responders. There were two or three married women who were just looking for an affair. It was a very interesting period in my life. ![]() Stitchawl |

By the way, what the hell is with the Hello Kitty obsession? Every one of my students had either a Hello Kitty pencil case or a Mickey Mouse t-shirt. |
