Why? Sony paid for overnight UPS both ways and did free updates of the old PRS-500 to a new firmware that supportes ePub. Why should Bookeen charge for this? Given that Bookeen is a much smaller company, I can understand not paying for shipping, but to have to pay to flash the Gen3 is wrong.

I said that in answer to his/her request that Bookeen should either remove the falsely described auction from EBay or put up the FW for download. Under the assumption that the auction is not really running the not-released-firmware, the request that Bookeen remove an auction from EBay is asking very much from Bookeen. They have no direct influence, all they can do is contact EBay and ask them to remove that auction. And from my experience EBay is very, very lazy in their actions to protect their customers, and I bet that a relatively small company like Bookeen has not much more weight when dealing with a giant like EBay than any one of us here.

So it's not about Bookeen's obligation to care more for their customers than EBay. It's asking something from Bookeen which they cannot fulfill.

I really don't believe Bookeen anymore........

They promise new firmware don't deliver it...they advertise in the USA a version of the Cybook that has the new firmware on it but tell us that it is still needing more testing (using a cut and paste message).....

What can take a profesional

company so long to test something that is so simple in software terms......

Nope. But when i had a word to someone from bookeen about croping margin, thier answer was "working on it don't don't work that well yet", rather than "in the next release". Which I transslated as "maybe later, in yet another update".

At least, it have the merit of explaining that the hell bookeen is doing. But i'll rather have then realease the bug fixes, and then, work on new stuff...

Trust someone working in programing, simple looking stuff is sometime more mess to program than complex looking things.

I'm not sure the "ePub model" that was "advertise" in the US was really released for the US market. I seriously doubt, It's more like BoB leak some informations without having the market

I sure hope it is not the ePub support that is holding up this firmware update. I don't need ePub support, I just need folder view and Mobi support. Why do they have to release both FW's at the same time?
