The "Open With" situation (with regard to Sigil and calibre) is now resolved and done. Calibre has a built-in way for launching Sigil that works correctly, and should be used by those who need that functionality. The fact that the third-party Open With plugin can no longer do so, is not a Sigil bug, nor a Sigil issue at all. Take it up in the Open With plugin thread if you wish to discuss it further. Thanks.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=309 It now uses the same launching system as Calibre uses, so Sigil 0.9.7 works fine on Windows when launched using the fixed plugin. I didn't change any other code, so other platforms should continue to work as before. |

Why doesn't all epub files get marked with Sigil version number and the edit date? Not that it matters, but would want to get consistent metadata
![]() http://imgur.com/a/tAzHF vs. http://imgur.com/a/omXvr (Sigil version and date were added automatically) |

That version and date is added when the epub is saved, not when the epub is first loaded and it happens all of the time when something has changed and a save is done.

This is not that important. I was just wondering why that is and if there's a solution to add version number and date to all files ![]() Apart from this tiny, tiny issue Sigil is great and useful ![]() |

Hi reggie717,
Hmm that is very strange. Would you please look at the content.opf and verify that neither the Sigil version nor the date are in the metadata section of the content.opf in your first book after a save. Also is this with an epub2 or an epub3? Thanks, KevinH |

Actually the date is tied into a mandatory epub3 metadata as it is not part and can not be edited as it creates part of the overall truly unique id. So we do not want it played with under epub3 as it will be auto updated upon save. Epub2 metadata is allowed but not supported under epub3.

I got the following warning from Little Snitch on OS X 11.12. It occurred after launching the SmartenPunctuation plugin.

Should Sigil try connecting remotely when launching a plugin? |
