You need to copy the 3 Chinese font files into the \FONT folder:
tt0003m_.ttf tt0011m_.ttf tt0419m_.ttf Refer to the beginning of the thread to see where to get them. |

what is the exact firmware version of your reader? (Settings -> About)
This is for 1.1.00.18040. If not, you might want to upgrade to that version (download from sony's website) Otherwise, you may try the attached script (replace the original one). Reboot and check if there is a my.log and tinyhttp.sh in your internal memory's root folder. |

I see, that's why it did not work for you. That is because I only put in the modified tinyhttp.sh in the folder for 1.1.00.18040.
For other versions, nothing is changed. The ReplaceTinyhttp.sh.zip is updated. (Assuming the tinyhttp.sh to be the same for all of them.) Now it should support all Sony Reader's versions. Does this work on the PRS 600?
Does anyone know if this works on the PRS600? I want to be able to read Korean and Chinese on my PRS 600... would doing this make that possible?
Thanks, Nathan |

A few questions:
1) Will this hack work for my firmware version 1.1.01.25200 or do I need to downgrade? 2) Will it affect all ebook formats or just some? Do I need to take extra steps (like saving .txt books in UTF8)? 3) What do I do if I don’t like the way the new font looks on my reader and want to try a new one? Just reset the reader and repeat the hack with a new font? 4) Do I need to backup reader files before the hack, or a simple resetting completely erases any effects of this hack? |

1) I don't know.
2) It affects all formats which are rendered by Sony code. TXT, LRF, LRX, RTF. With TXT and RTF, you need to save them in unicode. 3) When the reader reboots (intentionally or not), it is back to standard fonts. 4) It is not necessary, but an extra backup can't hurt... |

How can I backup? By simply copying all reader folders to the PC?

I prefer to use a program such as Drive Snapshot.

pubolab, thank you for your package; it works great. Also as I said in the PRSCustomerizer thread, use the chinese fonts listed on the first page of this thread if you want japanese support. They work just fine. Other fonts seem to cause the reader to reboot.
