I do not know what model Kindle you have (your info box says: "kindle 5").

And the first four characters of your device's serial number to identify your Kindle model (and update your post/info box).

Locate the version of reader you want to install,

Read the directions.

The installation of our signed packages are the same process as doing an Amazon update:

Place package in root (topmost visible directory) of USB storage;
Safely remove/Eject the Kindle mass storage;
Remove the USB cable;
Menu -> Settings -> Menu -> Update Your Kindle.

If the "UYK" button is grayed out - either the package is not for your model of Kindle, or you did something wrong - try again.

If the update_*.bin file silently disappears - it is not the correct file for you model of Kindle.

As you can see in the attachment, with the Kindle Paperwhite you can scroll through the various definitions of the word "match" (three in this case) by tapping on the arrow keys. This is not allowed on the Kindle Touch. Do you think it is possible to achieve the same function? Maybe, with a jailbreak.
My KT is updated to the last firware (5.3.7).

@Mrsevic: 5.4.4.1, yes, 5.4.4.2: possibly, no one has checked yet (AFAIK).

The only thing I checked is that if you're *upgrading* to 5.4.4.2/5.4.3.2, the JB survives. For fresh installs, no info yet.

EDIT: Good thing you asked, I was sure I had updated the thread title to reflect that fact, but apparently I had forgotten .

EDIT²: Apparently, you're good to go on a vanilla 5.4.4.2.

5.4.4.1: Yes
Just try installing it on 5.4.4.2, it will either work or it will not.

but I can not use diag port too.
