Also, small bug when using jump to a book that doesn't appear in the current VL. Ideally either switch to All Books or state it's not in the VL.

You cannot use VL's. Not supported. Don't do it.

Not sure what 'jump to a book' means.

But for me, clicking on a calibre:\\show-book link in JS->NV behaves the same as clicking the same link in the Book Details panel - if the linked book is not in the current VL, calibre switches to the All book pseudo VL before showing the book.

I am now trapping that error and issuing an error dialog instead of a program exception.

The "jump" is a pushbutton in NV that will jump you directly to the selected book title/author/long-text snippet stored in the adjacent combobox after a search of all of the current custom column text values for all books. The search uses the regular expression.

Another new version has been uploaded to post #12, the one with the Dark Mode picture, and the same place the other versions have been being posted.

This one has, in addition to Dark Mode & URI links etc.:

* New: auto-return to the last used custom column the last time you exited from NV; the book is whatever is one the first row (#0).

# New: HTML pushbutton visible in edit mode. Read the tooltip.

* If a book saved from the search via regex into the combobox has either been deleted since the search results were saved, or they are in another VL, there is no Exception now; just an error message.

* Other miscellany.

I very much doubt I'll ever use the Jump to feature, hence it hadn't registered

I found the Jump feature by messing around trying to figure out what the regex was for.

The regex for links I wrote will not match your file uri example. Easy fix. Tomorrow.

Whoops - when I invoke JS->NV it jumps top the top of the book list.
