Version 1.0.216 Notes Viewer: Many major changes to the user experience
Version 1.0.216 -2023-03-14 Notes Viewer: Many major changes to the user experience, including tabbing and alt+letter shortcuts specific to the tool. The tool does not use your personal Calibre shortcuts, just its own. Look for the underlined letter in the various widgets.
Tabbing is from the Custom Column dropdown, then to its right and down in a clockwise direction. Shift+Tab reverses the direction. Left and right arrow keys can be used in groups of radio buttons if the Tab stops at the first one, and you want to select a different one. The Custom Column dropdown list's personal pushbutton, "CC", has a shortcut of alt+c, and also can be activated by pressing Enter while the focus is on it. A blue border surrounds widgets when they get the focus from tabbing, clicking, or your mouse wheel. When in View Mode, the text is read-only, so the focus never goes there. You can still select the text, but you need a mouse to do so. When in Edit Mode, the focus can go there as normal. There is a ToolTip for the Edit Mode and View Mode buttons that describes the keyboard keys available to move around the text. DaltonST Last edited by DaltonST; 03-14-2023 at 03:42 PM. |

In dark mode the text box is pale grey text on a white ground.
Otherwise looks good. Everything seems to be working. My only wish is to open a protocol link defined in an HTML <a ref> tag, which references a file://, onenote://, calibre://, mailto://, or https:// or any other sort of URL. I found another HTML content detected as markdown -- I suspect the series of underscores in Summary. I don't think it did this in the last version, but I'm not 100% on this.
Thought: Is it possible to make the presence of HTML tags override the presence of markdown syntax for the detection? Spoiler:

In Plain style and View mode I'm seeing very pale grey text on a white ground within a black box, same in Edit mode, viz: Unselected Selected The text should be the very pale grey on the text box's black - i.e. the text itself shouldn't need a background colour (as per owb's MDE example). If I select the text I see pale grey on bright blue, which is fine. Can the unselected text have a transparent background? Quote:

Test Version of Notes Viewer Tool for HTML URI Links & Dark Mode in Windows
Attached is a version that seems to work fine with URI links. Please run it through your tests.
I also added more HTML Tags to look for in guessing type of text, so had to adjust the formula to weight MD vs. HTML given large disparities in number of regexes for MD vs. HTML, and given that the MD regexes are highly generic whereas the HTML regexes are highly specific. Specific beats generic, all things being equal. So, please also test its sensitivity to differentiating MD vs. HTML. See the attached image of Dark Mode. Sadly, the "Follow My Lead" I posted above is still detected as MD.
Clickable (and copyable, via right-click) links do work in HTML mode, though. |

Your example starting with "Adapter_Classes:" shows properly as HTML on my system.
If you means another example, you will have to post it where I can find it. DaltonST |

Same one, yes.
If it matters toward replication, #fanficmetadata is interpreted as plain text (the column is managed with FanFicFare, and Calibre adjusting the HTML breaks it). |
