I never thought about this much, but you posting that made me realize something.

In the Star Trek reboot movies, fans have criticized the ship design, saying the bulgy nacelles look like a souped-up hot rod, not a spaceship. And of course, in the first movie as they're to leave space dock, the ship doesn't move at first. Captain Pike asks Sulu "Is the parking brake on?" (And it turns out that, yes, basically the parking brake was on.)

So in the new movies it's really IS a hot rod, not a naval vessel.

Looks like the eBook was published last September too, almost a year ago. Not sure that bodes well for the future books getting put into eBook format.
