Finally some competition!
Let's hope Netronix finds some decent distributors around the world and "significantly under $1000" means $600-700 at most. Why not sell directly from Taiwan(which is where they seem to be based)? |

How about some mail bombing? If enough people asks them about selling the device directly perhaps they'll start to consider it.

My understanding is that they plan to deliver it OEM and not sell it under their own brand. I admit being somewhat sceptical to anyone taking them up on their offering. It's not like the Sony model has sat the e-book world on fire exactly. Hopefully we could convince then that the market exist, but they might need to go after it on their own.

Yes, that's always been Netronix's business model: many of the early reading devices were rebranded Netronix devices. It's been a few years since I've heard the name, though!

Will any of these other 13+" eInk devices allow other formats besides PDF? Will they allow eBooks to be read?

The Netronix was shown running standard Android so that should allow you to install anything from Play Store. How about a Nexus 13? Google offering something not available on an iDevice.
