I know, I book could just be text and an internal TOC and nothing else. I have some books that are actually like that; even from the big publishing houses. I do, however, feel that a 'proper' book should have a nice cover, front matter, back matter, and a TOC. It's more an aesthetic consideration than a functional one. |

He's Jeff and he doesn't give a crap about what his customers want. His customers want a better search engine on ALL Amazon websites. His customers want better font control on Kindles. His customers want more control over their eBooks. His customers want more font sizes. His customers want to control line height and margins. Jeff doesn't give a damn about his customers of these things would have been put in place. He's Jeff. He's a megalomaniac and he thinks he knows best.

But I agree, the ereader should have on option to look at the cover in larger size BEFORE opening the book. |

These generic covers are one of the reason I think the price for eBooks needs to drop. Why are we paying the same or more for an eBook when we don't always get the same content? Yes, the cover counts as content and a generic cover doesn't count for anything. |

How do you explain the appearance of the open dyslexic font in the last update? They developed Bookerly to please non dyslexic readers. And now they added an accessibility feature for dyslexic people so they can enjoy reading. How many paper books have that option? Jeff is chosing by priority. Apparently there is more dyslexic people out there than those few like you that need more control over fonts. Aren't you happy with your Kobo?

Please tell me that you do not give Jeff any money. I am afraid your description of Jeff does not fit. He is wealthy. I have never once heard him describe himself as important or having power or famous. Therefore, no delusions so the term does not fit. Now I do know a megalomaniac. He is always inflating himself. I am surprised that he hasn't blown up yet. |

Agreed. You have an example of a generic cover? I have not run across any book I read without a real cover. Maybe because I usually don't even consider an ugly looking book in the store no matter who wrote it. If the cover looks like crap, it is not even worth looking at the title or blurp. That is just me, I guess.
