The flap cover works better for me, provides a bit more side protection for the screen and I think it looks nice

Maybe I have made too much about the Reset Hole being covered, if it is so easy to get the device out of the cover. I haven't actually tried...

Any hints on how to do it without risking the device? I have noted what others have suggested, but am interested in other people's experience.
PeterT responded. Someone I think in this thread suggested pulling the device out of the cover then operating on the cover with a dremel tool to carve away enough plastic to expose the reset hole.

Sorry, just didn't recognize the word "dremel." I am not going to drill the case.

I am on my third Kobo (glo HD now) and I have never used the reset.

I am curious as to why the reset hole being covered is an issue.

I regularly remove the Kobo from its case to give it a dust down.

Lucky you! I do own all Kobo models except the H2O. In my experience I need the pinhole reset often for various reasons: Database issues, a frozen device because of problems with new fonts or just a problematic epub.

Not all covers allow an easy removement of the device, so if the reset hole is covered, this could be very annoying.

How about an X-ACTO knife?
I have had no need to reset so far (3 weeks) having loaded about 250 ebooks (epubs) from Calibre.

Web search will show Demel tool and accessories but this is expensive for drilling 1 hole. Pin vice $5 and small twist drill or sharp knife point will also drill a pin hole. Heat a pin red hot and melt a hole in plastic blocking access to pin hole might work. Regardless of method only form hole in cover frame without reader installed in cover.

Thanks all, for the suggestions. Some are really inventive
I'll just wait and see if I need to use the Reset Hole. I have needed it a few times with the Glo. If so, I'll try to get the device out. It is my fear of cracking the screen or edges while pushing it out of the molding that is the problem. I find these types of cases difficult to manipulate when removing the device.

I have ordered a new case that is made correctly, so I have an alternative if drilling, burning or otherwise tampering with my expensive Kobo case does not work. Always assuming that I don't crack the device when I remove it!

Only ereader screen I have damaged was in 1/4 inch thick foam rubber sleeve setting on console between 2 seats in sports car. Arm pressure probably damaged screen. More aware they are easy damaged have not broken another screen. I'm carefull not to excess. Often have a reade in shirt, trouser or jacket pocket without damaging pocket or reader even while on roller coaster.

Turns out the metal hooks caused some type of connection short in the device and I had to replace the cover. Fortunately the device could be restarted, which I learned about here on MR.

I am still going to wait until absolutely necessary before removing it!
I just ordered this myself. I had a similar one for my GLO and thought it had quite good protection. It's easy to slip the device in and out and although a bit bigger than the 'snap in' style I think a better fit for my use. It should arrive by the beginning of July, until then I use a Kobo Touch sleeve. I'll report back when it arrives but I'm sure it'll be just like the one I used with my Glo.

mulbees case doesn't fit glo hd

just a heads up: I just received the following mulbees case for the glo/glo hd. I have the glo hd, and the case fits very snuggly. the auto sleep works, however the flap doesn't close properly. the case is simply too small to allow proper closure and the magnet isn't strong enough to keep the flap down.

I'm not sure which MULBESS, of the several models on offer, you bought but I bought the one labeled Mulbess Kobo Glo /Glo HD Premium Genuine Leather Case Ultra Slim Cover for Kobo Glo /Glo HD with Magnetic Auto Sleep Wake Function Color Wine Purple. It doesn't have the problems you mention. The magnet is quite strong (but it doesn't cause any problems switching the reader off when the cover is folded back). The front cover is rigid and the stitching is good. All in all it works pretty well. The only 'complaint' I have is purely self-inflicted I chose the wine purple colour which turns out to be rather dull in real life.

really the aura hd case for a glo hd? or are you using an aura hd with it? i bought the Mulbess Kobo Glo /Glo HD Premium Genuine Leather Case Ultra Slim Cover for Kobo Glo /Glo HD with Magnetic Auto Sleep Wake Function Color Black it isn't in stock as of this post. it's so awkward that the dimensions of the glo hd and glo are so similar yet not exact. seems like a really odd design choice. either make them exactly the same or really different.

I'm really sorry. I don't know how I managed to mess that up so badly! It is definitely one designed for Glo/GloHD. The description should have read
Mulbess Kobo Glo /Glo HD Premium Genuine Leather Case Ultra Slim Cover for Kobo Glo /Glo HD with Magnetic Auto Sleep Wake Function Color Wine Purple.

I'll correct my earlier post so as not to confuse anyone else.

Omoton Leather Sleeve Cover

I actually like sleeve-type cases which cover the bezel (easier on my thumb somehow), and I noticed people seem to like Omoton cases. Has anyone tried this one yet

I like the little pocket (handy for receipts and the like), but I'm always cautious about PU leather cases until I've seen reviews. Some of them smell really foul even days after they've been removed from the packaging. No reviews of this one yet on Amazon.
