I prefer my Sony e-ink reader, but one night I'd forgotten to stash it in my bag, so I pulled out the Galaxy Note and proceeded to read for over an hour. The surprise is that it was pretty comfortable, though I did have to set brightness way low and background color to a grey similar to e-ink.

I'd happily do the same again if I didn't have e-ink with me.

I had to vote for the Mackerel. My phone battery drains to fast, plus there is a lot of glare. I prefer eink. But my reader does not leave the house with me as often as it should. I feel safer with it at home, or leaving it in the car in it's case. My purse is not big enough to carry it safely.

So at home I read 100% on the Reader. When I am out it is a 50/50 Reader or do without since I forgot it.

It's a good 2nd choice for me--its advantages over my eink readers are that it can handle more temperature extremes, fits in my pocket, and is backlit. Which makes it great for when I can't carry a large purse, or where it is dark.

Ditto! (except that I never read DTB any more. Basically I read on anything I have on hand although lately I prefer my Galaxy Tab and my android phone because of Aldiko Sync...

Yeap, lcd is ok when you can set brightness. It's more the small size of my phone that's the problem.

Missing my answer.

Yes, when I don't have my Kindle with me, which is fairly rare. I read a second book, usually collection of short stories, when I'm on my phone -- I don't bother trying to synchronize as my Kindle is wi-fi only and even with 3G I'd probably keep the radio off most of the time, so the page synchronization would probably seldom be correct.

Ok, I voted for the mackerel option, but only because I didn't see an option for "I read on my cellphone in a pinch- have done it once or twice".

I used to read a lot on my blackberry before. Amusingly, I actually read faster there than I do in the nook now.

Must be the mackerel...

For bedtime reading, I find it easier to read on my mobile than on my Kindle with attached light. I don't think I would find the Nook with Glowlight a significant improvement.
