Also, since I left the 2.0.6 FW months ago, my reader never remembers where I was last reading in any book...and so i always have to use bookmarks now. kinda annoying.
It happened to me too after flashing the new firmware, then after opening a few other ebooks it started to remember the correct position.

does that mean reformating the hd on the reader, and reinstalling a fresh copy of 2.1.2? Or just reinstalling 2.1.2 over itself again?

cheers!

yeah scribble works in fact, but in landscape view (in pdfs at least) it is off
by a few mm. enough to make it unusable. Given that most people look at pdfs in landscape (if on a 6" reader) would be handy if pocketbook knew about this.

As for reflashing to 2.1.2....should i back everything up then reformat the HD and then install 2.1.2 fresh? Is that the best way?

try as a workaround to switch within configuration menu->Appearance to the landscape orientation go back to HomeScreen and proof if it shows in landscape go afterwards again to configuration and calibrate the touchscreen in landscape. the stylus should be precise then in landscape PDF

Okay, Dolansky, I tried that but no luck, same issue of miscalibration.

btw, this talk of reflashing,,,,does it mean it need to reformat the ereader
and then install a fresh copy of 2.1.2? Or just a simple fw reinstall?

just a simple FW reinstall - always wise to backup just in case, but no need to reformat. One other thing you can try is "clean state" from the config menu. This is more radical than reflashing, though, as all bookmarks will go.

I find that since upgrading the device doesn't remember where I'm in a book but only if I exit through the task manager.
If I exit through the menu or just pressing back to exit the reading program it remembers where I was.
Was this the same situation you fixed with 'clean slate' ?

Also now if I open a book but decide not to read it the 'open' mark stays, even if I 'mark as read' and 'remove mark'.

not sure of the subtleties of button presses...but clean slate did fix the issue.
damn calibration for scribble in landscape mode is still off. In fact when in landscape, if i turn the reader 90 degrees in my hand the scribble is accurate, turn it back inline with page, then they are off again. weird.

How do you hold your screen when you do the calibration?
From what I've seen the problem comes from the fact that what gives the signal isn't in the tip of the stylus. Since the stylus is normally held at an angle the signal will come a few mm from where you place the tip of the stylus. With the calibration you correct for this difference, but you make the correction for one orientation of the screen.

Endless loading of some menu-items

I really like version 2.1.2. It is fast and it sort of does everything that was promised more than 1 year ago, when PocketBook 903 was released with FW version 2.0.4.

Still one flaky issue: when I start the e-reader and touch the main menu-item "Photo" it keeps loading forever. It doesn't matter whether this directory is filled with files or not.
A reboot is necessary to get rid of this action.

With a "clean slate" I could not get rid of this annoying behaviour.
Has someone into this before?
Maybe there is a cure without a rollback to my former version (2.1.0)?
