The one and only reason I actually bought the new Kindle (instead of just writing it off straightaway as usual) was because they got rid of the keyboard at the bottom, I use my e-reader to read nothing else so the keyboard was just wasted space and extra weight. It's definitely lighter than my PEZ, but the button placement could be better I've had to adjust the way I hold it so I can read one handed, other than that and the lack of folder support I'm extremely happy with my purchase especially at £89

I bet you miss the rocker from the PEZ though. Turning pages on the K4 is not easy one handed...I gave up and use my other hand.

Before the original Kindle I simply used my Mac for reading. It is still working but by my sister who is not as active a reader as myself. My Kindle2 is is my mothers care and she reads constantly. She also tells me she will get a Kindle Fire later this year and give the K2 to another sibling. I have both a K3 and a Kobo which are over a year old but my iPad2 sees the most use. I bring it to work every day to read on breaks. I got my iPad2 last summer about a month after they first went on sale. I'm happy with the K3 and don't intend to upgrade with the current group of machines but next year when the new iPad comes out I may get another.

I got my Sony 505 in the summer of 2008 and it is working great. It actually did almost die once but then I figured out that I had reached its memory capacity and that was what was making it crash. I unburdened it and it resumed meeting my needs nicely.

I'm happy with my K2. I'd like one of the newer models, but just can't justify the price when the old one is still working perfectly.

Our IREX DR800SG and Entourage eDGe are all one and a half year old. We had a Sony PRS505, but after starting with the Irex we sold the Sony. Up till now all those devices are working without any problem. great reading pleasure.

I agree the page-turn buttons on the Kindle 4 are quite awkwardly placed - I'd prefer it if they were a little wider so it felt like I was pressing on something rather than wiggling the edge; or if the 5-way controller could jump pages too instead of whole sections.

The battery life has never got worse, I charge it the same now as I did when I first got it. We have a few Sony gadgets in our house (OH is a Sony Fanboy) and the battery life on the ones I've used is excellent.
