Did a bit of modelling with currently received data: maybe 28% growth for next year?

I have so many Readers that I don't even know how old some of them are.

I got my 505 in summer of '09, just before they discontinued it, and have used it considerably since. It still works great, no issues.

I got my Kindle 2 two years ago, when they first became available internationally. It cost me $350, about £215.
I could buy an equivalent Kindle now for £149 new or £116 refurbished. But the cheapest Kindle I can buy now is only £89 if new, or a refurb for £80. Pretty good for two years. |

My main reader is my PRS-650, which is almost 1 year old.
My wife is using my PRS-600, which is over 2 years old. We also have a PRS-350 that is a few months old. And I just ordered two refurbished PRS-650s. One for her, one for a spare. |

I've just had to replace my Astak PEZ after two wonderful years as I didn't realise I'd left it on the bed and leant on the screen with my elbow, even the memory of the huge cracking sound brings a tear to my eye
![]() Took nearly six weeks to decide on a replacement, every one I wanted was either no longer available as everybody was bringing out new models or was not available in the UK period. To be honest the longest six weeks of my life, having to read on a small iphone screen again was not particularly pleasant, at least I managed to hold off on upgrading to iOS5 after reading it would break Stanza! So now I've been the proud owner of a Kindle 4NT for just over one week and can honestly say, after plenty of pre-purchase reservations about Kindles in general, that I'm extremely happy with my purchase and if anything I'm actually reading more books than before (Ive already read nine books on the thing I just can't put it down, I've even been taking it into work to read while waiting for data transfers to finish on a server install ![]() |

Exactly how does reading get outdated?
That's the thing about these devices: yes, you get more bells and whistles, and more battery life. Reading, however, doesn't get outdated and they keep on keeping on (should the trade winds pervail). |

My 350 is about a year old (a bit less, I believe) and my T1 is brand new. My husband is using my 505, and it is still going strong. I use both my T1 and my 350 on a daily basis, but I chose 1 year old in the poll, as I carry my 350 with me at all times in my purse, but I generally use the T1 at home.
