Love it! Another classic Churchill insult is in the exchange between him and George Bernard Shaw:

Shaw's note to Churchill: "I am enclosing two tickets to the first night of my new play; bring a friend ... if you have one."

Churchill's response: "Cannot possibly attend first night; will attend second, if there is one."

In Europe lots of years ago (who knows when), a cat's value was measured by holding it nose down tail up and the volume of wheat that would completely cover the cat was it's value. So if you killed a big cat the fine was REALLY big you had to pay back in grain.

I think they reckoned that a cat of a certain size could eat enough mice to save a certain amount of grain from being eaten by said (eaten) mices.

1) On February 27, 1968, Walter Cronkite stated on his CBS News broadcast that the Vietnam War was mired in stalemate. As he watched the broadcast, President Lyndon Johnson said to an aide, "If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost Middle America."

2) A Kansas man was struck and killed by an oncoming train. The engineer tried blowing his whistle to alert the man, but the man had his cell phone in one ear, and was cupping the other with his hand to block out the noise of the oncoming locomotive.

Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas was awarded $780,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the misbehaving little b*stard was Mrs. Robertson's son.

An average hurricane produces about 6 x 10^14 Watts, so in ten minutes releases 3.6 x 10^17 Joules.

1 kiloton of TNT is equivalent of about 4 x 10^12 Joules.
All nuclear bomb tests carried out to date have released the energy about 510,000 kilotons of TNT, which comes to about 2 x 10^18 joules.

So it's false. But a similar sounding statement is true:

"In an hour, an average hurricane releases as much energy as all the world's nuclear weapons tests combined."
