Well, I got through two and a half chapters (just met Leopold Bloom). I can appreciate some of the writing, but it just doesn't do it for me. I may come back to it after

Analog SFF, December 2010 by Dell Magazines. So far the expected SF/Fantasy short stories.

I am reading a book. That's right, a hard copy book. How in that name of all that is e-ink is that possible? Because I lent the Sony to my wife a couple weeks ago and haven't seen it since. Anyway the book is Takedown by Brad Thor.

You better get it back or you will never see it again . At least now you know what to give your wife for Christmas.

Ditto to that! The original is fine, the sequels taper off in interest IMHO.

I'm reading THE CHAMBER by John Grisham its pretty good but i'd say The Count Of Monte Cristo (unabridged) by Alexandre Dumas is one of the best books ever written

It's the first e-book that I've attempted to read from beginning to end, on a screen.
I've found some errors and the page-flow layout (re-flow - perhaps that's the correct word) is a bit iffy, which I find rather distracting.

I've finished Miss Mackenzie, and unfortunately it's not my favorite book ever because of the aforementioned horrible attitudes towards women but also because the second half of it was really boring. "Will he marry me? Won't he marry me? Oh, I'm so poor and low in society." wtf ever.

Started reading the Kalevala for class, and it's GREAT. I'm reading the freebie version from Amazon so it's the old translation from 1887 and it's a little awkward compared to the one from 1989 (the Oxford one my classmates are reading), but not so much that I can't enjoy the poem.

I'll probably have to read Rama II from a *GASP!* paper copy.

So what is wrong with the rest of the series after that? Is Rama II place one can end the series?

I just finished "Side Jobs" by Jim Butcher (waaaa I want the next one to come out now!!!) and have started "The Big Short" by Michael Lewis, which I picked up in hardcover at the library. I love books on economics, and this one came highly recommended. In a nutshell it's a book about the 08 economic collapse.

Finished The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi, the second book in his "Old Man's War" universe.

Only common character was Lieutenant Jane Sagan and could be read as a stand alone novel, though....

I think that it probably should be read after "Old Man's War". I found some things explained and a lot more understanding of the whole universe.

I've read reader reviews who thought the book was not as interesting as the first, but I personally disagree. Not the same, but a good hard military science fiction novel.

Still *trying* to read Ulysses, but getting bogged down a lot.

Emmm... I hope you don't take House as a source of serious medical information... I only watched one episode, but in it he operated someone to take away his memory.
