Here those who don't follow soccer tend to call it "soccer", while those who do call it "football".

Personally, I prefer the unprotected, concussive, collisional brutality of rugby (of either sort). It reminds me of wrestling Adrian for control of...well, anything...but there's less blood, bruising and bone-breakage.

Pffft!! Rugby Union is - and I quote directly from the Northerner's Handbook to Being a Reet Proper Northerner - "played by them soft Southerners."

Rugby League is the only true Rugby!

oh proper! my son is in the leagues on the east coast and is actually going to the semi finals this spring

when everyone else was having problems with their kids and drugs and such, I was bailing my daughter out of the emergency room with either her latest concussion or another round of stitches. she's going to have to stop playing as she really HAS had too many concussions

the polite little conversations and such! the only after game goal is beer, lots of it too dull the pain, and wondering how many blood spatters you'll get on the upholstery this time!
