Choice of Robots

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00R57V7KI/

Also on Amazon.com but Not Free.

The robots you design will change the world! Will you show them the true meaning of love, or conquer Alaska with your robot army?

"Choice of Robots" is an epic 300,000-word interactive sci-fi novel by Kevin Gold, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based-without graphics or sound effects-and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Play out thirty years of your life as a brilliant robot maker, from graduate school near the present day to a future in which your robots have changed everything. Depending on your choices, your robots may be independent or obedient, clumsy or graceful, empathic or cold ... and you yourself may live to an old age happily married or alone with only robots to comfort you.

Play as male or female, gay or straight, with nine characters to romance, four alternate climax chapters, and over seventy achievements to unlock

Warning, offers in-app purchases with real money

And the minipack is just a taste of the author's work which is coming out as a megapack later this year. I don't recall reading her before but she does write a good story.

That first book is worth a read. It's VERY good, the later volumes aren't quite as strong, but still fairly good, I think.

On Kobo UK, the coupon code 'KOBO2015' works to bring this down to £0.68.

X-link to the Comics megathread, where the new Humble Bundle is mainly for comics, but has a few sf/fantasy novels and some steampunk stories in it (as well as sfnal graphic novels):

Humble Book Bundle Made with Kickstarter contains a fantasy novel trilogy by Harry Connolly (ISFDB), a sci-fi thriller novel by Michael J. Sullivan (ISFDB, Wikipedia, author of the originally self-pub Riyria Chronicles fantasy which got picked up by Hachette's Orbit imprint), and other works of sfnal interest.

Well, for those of you who held off getting this during the Kobo Canada Day sale, you're in luck:

Bargain @ $2.99 for today only (July 16th) as Kobo Canada's Daily Deal from Penguin Canada's Viking imprint (not couponable, price matched in other Canadian stores):

River of Stars by Guy Gavriel Kay (ISFDB, Wikipedia), 2nd in his Under Heaven duology of historically-based fantasy set in a Song Dynasty China analogue (this occurs several centuries after the original Tang-analogue Under Heaven, which is still priced at $6.99 CAD).

This is an extra $2 off the "regular" discount price of $4.99 it was at (down from the normal $11.99), just for one day, which Kobo sometimes arranges for its Daily Deal books in Canada.

Ren Daiyan was still just a boy when he took the lives of seven men while guarding an imperial magistrate of Kitai. That moment on a lonely road changed his life in entirely unexpected ways, sending him into the forests of Kitai among the outlaws. From there he emerges years later—and his life changes again, dramatically, as he moves toward the court and the emperor while war approaches Kitai from the north.

Lin Shan is the daughter of a scholar, his beloved only child. Educated by him in ways young women never are, gifted as a songwriter and calligrapher, she finds herself living a life suspended between two worlds. Her intelligence captivates an emperor—and alienates women at court. But when her father’s life is endangered by the savage politics of the day, Shan must act in ways no woman ever has.

In an empire divided by bitter factions circling an exquisitely cultured emperor who loves his gardens and his art far more than the burdens of governing, dramatic events on the northern steppe alter the balance of power in the world, leading to events no one could have foretold, under the river of stars.

Also, the French-language Kobo Canada Daily Deal for Canada is a fantasy as well, if you're interested:

@ $4.99 (regularly $8.99): Dragon by E. E. Knight (ISFDB, Wikipedia), a translation of the 1st in their Age of Fire series of fantasy adventure novels from ROC, out from Bragelonne's Milady imprint which incidentally is DRM-free.

Catherynne M. Valente's award winning Fairyland series omnibus (books 1-3) is on sale for $2.99. The omnibus includes The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, The Girl Who Fell Beneath Faiyland and Led the Revels There, and The Girl Who Soared Over Fairyland and Cut the Moon in Two.
Amazon Kobo Google Play B&N

I don't know if this is regular pricing, but I noticed that George R.R. Martins 5 book Game of Thrones bundle is $19.99 at Amazon and Google Play. It's $29.99 at B&N and $39.99 at Kobo. A pretty good price if you don't have the series.
