i get specific error as kindle update error 007. : / not works for me.

I've downloaded 5.3.7 and apply on my K5 after tried to make JB but got kindle update error 007. And jailbreak was not working.

@akikara: You have other .bin files in the root of your device interfering. (Or the updater is getting confused, which apparently happens far more than before on 5.3.7...).

Clear the usb root, restart your device, and try again.

yes, that's what I did and they turned it off remotely (kind of creepy that they can do that...) without charging anything extra.
I just wanted to make sure the jailbreak is gone and hopefully undetectable, just in case I violated some small print and to make sure the jailbreak doesn't interfere with their ability to remotely turn off the special offers advertisments.
luckily, all went well.

But i am actually a little bit confused. If just we need to do for jb is copying content's of kindle-5.4-jailbreak.zip what does other bin files do? Why do we need install and uninstall .bin files?

@akikara: Because they do what's written on the tin.

The uninstall, well uninstalls the jb, and the bridge install installs the bridge in case it went poof or people just need it (other jailbreaks, manual jb, ...).

@akikara: the usbnetwork doesn't require a valid password unless you've enabled ssh over Wi-Fi or enabled openssh instead of dropbear.

1) Are you using USB cable or Wifi to access your Kindle ?

The cable (or Wifi connection) has two ends, each with a different IP address.

2) What IP address have you assigned to the Kindle end?
What IP address have you assigned to the host PC end?

Should the Settings menu always show "Jailbreak" near the bottom under Reading Options? It did when I first performed the jailbreak, it no longer shows that.

I'm using a cable to connect. I did not make any assignments. Just using defaults.

ssh root@192.168.15.244 is the connection string.

Should i assign an ip address to my eth0 interface?
