Clara HD stuck on restoring screen
Hello there, I have tried a manual restoration but unfortunately, it seems that something get wrong :'( Can someone help me, I read that reseting the SD card may solve the problem? Thank you

Hi, I've tried soft reset but got a blank screen afterward. Hard reset didn't work too. I guess restoration files are distorted. Can I have an SD Card image for Kobo Clara Hd too?

Do you think I should upgrade it too? Because I was having freezing problems lately, that's why I wanted to reset in the first place.

@ezgidir mobilere: You need to enable Private Messaging. This is in the "Edit Options" of the control panel. If this isn't there, it has to be added somehow. You can try posting in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=319819 to ask it to be enabled, or contact a moderator.

But, what do you mean by "soft reset" and "hard reset". Neither of these are terms usually used with the Kobo devices, so I don't know what it is you actually did. Was one of these a factory reset?

ah yes, sorry about that. I was panicking at that moment, couldn't bring the details. First I tried the factory reset option over Kobo's interface (kobo was working when I did that, but it was very very slow) After a while the process started, the screen turned white and never came back. Only the bottom light was blinking. Then I used the "restore" option by holding the key for 30 seconds. In this method, "restoring" text appeared on the black screen in different languages, as it should be. But after a while, it went back to the white screen again. (at this point I set it aside to charge for a long time) So I thought maybe some of the files are distorted and that's why the restoring process is can not be completed.

The first method formats the books partition, but, doesn't restore the original firmware. The second method formats both partitions and restores the original firmware. The overall behaviour sounds like a failing SD card. A new card with the image written to it is likely to fix it. And to get the image to you, you need to enable PMs.

My Kobo Clara HD just broke into a bootloop after deconnecting it from my pc.
