Boneshaker (The Clockwork Century #1) by Cherie Priest. I must admit that it was the cover art that attracted me to this one!

I finished reading Boneshaker yesterday. It was very intrestingly set in an alternate reality paralleling ours but with quite interesting differences. This reality was also quite different form the one where Tales of the Ketty Jay take place. I liked it a lot!

Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus by P.C. Martin.

In an alternative Steampunk universe (c.1885), the plans for Captain Nemo's mysterious Nautilus submarine have been stolen from the British Secret Service. There is only one man who can solve the case, Sherlock Holmes. With his bionic side-kick Doctor Watson, and his brilliant and lethal sister, Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock unravels a mystery that will shake the foundation of the British Empire.

Adapted by P.C. Martin from the short story, 'The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (c.1912), 'Steampunk Holmes' is a convergence of one of Doyle's favorite Sherlock Holmes stories with Jules Vern 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea' (c.1870)

1. I didn't start a new series as Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus is a one-up short story.

2. I'm still trying to decide whether to read #2 of The Clockwork Century series (Dreadnaught) next or one or both of the interim volumes, #1.1 (Clementine) and/or #1.2 (Tanglefoot) next?

3. I only report books in this thread that I've read that are pertinent to this thread. Actually I read another book (a mystery) between Boneshaker and Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus.

4. Also my plan is to read a broad selection of Steampunk novels/stories in order to get a broad picture of the genre.

At long last, the Dresden Files RPG expansion The Paranet Papers is out! Grab a copy from your favorite independent gaming store or online through Evil Hat’s web store.

Down Town #5

The penultimate issue of “Down Town” hit stores on Wednesday! Snag a copy at your favorite local comics store or one through Dynamite.com. It hasn’t shown up yet on Dynamite Digital, but that’s currently being remedied. Check back soon! The sixth and final issue is slated for July 29th.

That's intriguing, even before reading the first book. I mean, 'Olympian' gives all kind of cool associations (at least for me). I get visions of airships swinging in the air between rockspires (check the Hunan province China, Zhangjiajie) with lightning bolts all over the place.

How long again before the first book?
