If you paid less than the full price it sounds like Best Buy is receiving the kits from Sony and removing the Reader and the hard case. Perhaps to sell them separately? Also, according to the Best Buy website, the hard/travel case is included.

No I paid the full $399 and did NOT get the hard case. I will try and call Best Buy CS. And they defiantely only had the smaller package there not the larger with the case.

I ordered through a Bing link to BB, for 5% cash back ($20!) on the $399 list price, and mine did arrive with the hard case.

Well folks, I returned from my road trip last night and there it was. Ordered December 27 and delivered January 27 at the sale price and no shipping. My box was the larger one with both the reader and the extra hard case included. I like the form factor very much. If only some bright programmer here could come up with a font hack like they have for the 505.
