Exposures by Jane Bown (yes, pbook -- photographic books just don't cut it as electronic yet).

Though I must admit I am rather enjoying the Melody Gardot that Santa bought my Better Half, which fortunately she is as well.
<The album is all the more impressive given what Melody Gardot has been through -- a very impressive young woman.>

My hubby and I gave each other ipods. I spent Christmas afternoon loading them with our favorite music.
Me. I will be using my ipod to listen to music as I glide my Bernina walking foot over the new quilted items I make and sell.
Everyone have a great day.

My cousin used to be the only Bernina repairman west of Dallas (in Texas, anyway) for years and years. His wife ran a monogram shop and the machines were all Berninas, so I think he took it up in self defense and to keep them from going bankrupt. Anyway, I've heard about Bernina all my life - and at the moment I don't even OWN a sewing machine!

Well........like all "electrical thing a ma gadgets" and appliances..............I think the older models are the best.

Mine was made in '96..........wouldn't trade it for anything. I keep it serviced and take good care of it.

That and my kindle....

My cousins would agree with you. Their Berninas were probably '70's models, maybe early '80's (the shop was at it's busiest when I was in high school, so I'm guessing on those dates).

I've had my Bernina for 3 years now and I don't know what I would do without it. I orginally bought it because of the BSR (Bernina owners, you know what that is). I found I use the walking foot more because it is so easy to slip on and get quilting. I would be going through withdrawl if mine was broken. So desertgrandma - GET GOING.

Don't get me stared on Berninas, a couple years ago my wife "needed" a new bobbin holder for her OLD Bernina. I paid $160 for the thing. Just before leaving the store, I asked how much the whole machine was worth, the clerk said they would give us $100 for it!

Ain't THAT a bunch of cr@pp!

I don't know, but I know she had it when I met her in 1987, and it was old then.
