My Kindle (and its SD card) are being recognized correctly, but when I try to send a file to the SD card, it's not being placed into the "documents" folder. It works correctly when I send to the Kindle's main memory.

Am I doing something wrong (missing a setting somewhere)?
You're not missing anything anywhere. The issue is I don't have a Kindle so I've been developing the driver on assumptions and info from people in this forum. I didn't know that the SD card required books to be put in the documents folder like with the main memory. I'll make the necessary change. It should show up in the next release.

Wow, you're doing a wonderful job "blind". Thanks for fixing, I'll look for the next release.

From what I've heard of the Kindle 2 so far, it seems to be very similar to the K1. So hopefully, adding support for it to calibre will only need the output of
Code:
calibre-debug -d
from a user with a K2 connected.

But the thought is appreciated

Here's a windows build that will hopefully detect the Kindle 2

http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/downlo...re-0.4.140.exe

If it doesn't, post the output of calibre-debug -d

with the new build

Thanks Kovid, I am hoping for a smooth transition from PRS-505 to my K2 which should be arriving today. I already have books waiting to be downloaded in my Calibre library. Looks I need to update Calibre to 4.140 first.

You should be able to tansfer books in your calibre library to the K2 using the Save to disk function, even if the K2 is not detected.

I'm so impressed with how quickly you're making changes!
I'm running Calibre 4.140 on Mac OS 10.5.6. Calibre isn't currently picking up my Kindle 2. I can use the save to disc option instead, but I was curious if detecting the K2 via Mac was in the future.

Cheers!

Here's an OS X build

http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/downlo...re-0.4.140.dmg

If it doesn't work, post the output from running

calibre-debug -d

in Terminal.app with the Kindle connected
