considering that 10 year olds spend tons of time on their own computers - and on computers at school - i can't see why the schools can't just download the books and put them on the computers for free. formatting issues? sure. but i see those in cheap classic print books all the time. this seems like a great way to try and lock schools and kids into a proprietary reading format. there are already libraries with either mobi or pdf books around already, and those can be read without a special reader. |

Now that's curious. I just saw one guy leave, they asked him to fill out a form, they asked him how many pages he had read, and I was sure he said 32 and he made some comment like "I could have read more but...". Now a different guy is sitting there reading with a silver 505 (the first guy had blue one). I guess I assumed there would be only one guy and that he'd be reading like the wind. I obviously have that wrong. Maybe the first guy was a temporary stand-in while the other guy was away.

Hey, I just noticed: at the bottom of the little video pane, there's a "Switch View" thing -- it'll show you the sidewalk outside ... it's kinda cool. |

That chair the guy's sitting in is the worst. It's a back killer. Maybe it was chosen so he wouldn't fall asleep.
