No, it is not needed. Kobo have said they are not releasing 4.7.10413 to the Aura ONE LE, but the next release will be common to both the versions of the Aura ONE. And it is perfectly safe to use either 4.7.10364 or 4.7.10413 on all the Mark6 devices. I suppose strictly, I shouldn't say all the Mark6 devices, but I have used both versions on all my Kobo devices.

I also add to Kobo Firmware Releases how can you see the download link of the firmware and make sure you download the right firmware.

I'm not sure how much work would be involved, but if abuse continues to be a problem the wiki could be moved to use the github.io pages and have any changes made to it done through PRs and have a roster of approved users who can merge them

And I suppose you could use a sledge hammer to hand a picture on the wall. This was unfortunate day of rampage but it is over now. I have seen worse with 50 pages being added by spammers from time to time but I deal with them. The whole idea of the wiki is to make it easy for users to contribute. There is always a risk of spammers and others who wish to ruin things for everybody else. This is the world we live in.

Yep, understood. Your work is appreciated, and I meant no offense. Just offering up an alternative if there is critical documentation there that is being targeted for continued abuse.

I will correct myselff, what I meant to say was, I don't understand why people can't wait a few days/weeks for the updates to be uploaded when they sync their ereaders, at least that way you know you are getting the correct update for your ereader. Yes I know this can cause problems - I particularly liked the one where I had to do a factory reset on both my Glo's a few updates ago. But in the long run apart from that glitch all my updates which have always been done through the sync process have been hassle free.

Because, as I'm going to patch it anyway and load it from my computer, I see no benefit in having to rely on ereader Wifi?

Because you need a copy of the firmware to be able to patch it and as long as you have the firmware to patch, why not side load it instead of waiting for it to sync? I don't sync firmware as I would also have eBooks syncing as well. I don't sync eBooks I buy from Kobo. I side load via Calibre. That way, I can fix the generic covers and anything else that needs fixing before loading.

The wiki page was vandalized again, I suspect it was the OP who did it, DaleDe undo the changes and lock the wiki page, now only admin can edit the wiki page.
