Best Device for reading True PDF - under $300 CAN
Hi Folks,
I'm looking for some advice. I have been using my partner's recent model 10ish inch Ipad to read True PDF colour magazines. it's a very nice experience. I want my own hardware to read these magazines and I don't particularly want to pay $5-600 for an IPAD. I am looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10" ($270), and the Lenovo Tab2 10 " ($250). the Kindle Fire 8.9È retails for $400 so it's out of my budget. It seems the resolution is better on the Lenovo. Other considerations are weight, ability to hold it easily, and be able to see the screen in sunlight. I already own a dedicated e-reader , and laptop, and this new addition 10 "device will be primarily to read true pdf magazines and maybe surf the web. So any suggestions on the best model to buy that is at least 9.7 - 10" good for True PDF and under $300 Cdn. Thanks Paul |

You might try http://www.efurb.com/details/APPLE-MC775LLA-2503.html. It is a refurb of an iPad 2 with a good warranty.

From the reviews I've read, I'd go with the Lenovo Tab2 A10. The display is superior (1920x1200 for the A10, 1280x800 for the Galaxy Tab 4), the processor is faster. (1.3 ghz to 1.2) and it has more RAM (2 gb to 1.5).
Plus, the A10 is using stock Android and the update to Lollipop is already available. As for weight, the A10 is 22 grams heavier. Don't know about holdability or screen brightness. I want an A10 for myself. Just need to save up some money. Last edited by ottdmk; 09-13-2015 at 03:28 PM. |

I have a MemoPad FHD 10 with that resolution. I haven't done much magazine reading on it, but I read comics on it all the time, and they look fantastic. I'm looking to get a new tablet with comparable specs because the touchscreen on the Asus is damaged.
