I believe there is a new plugin referenced in the comments at apprentice alf's website. It is meant for Kobo Desktop KEPUBs, and might be worth taking a look at.

Thanks for the tip Apache. I found the Kobo folder. Why can't everyone just put things in the documents folder so someone can find them easily?

Thanks for the tip eschwartz. I had a feeling it might not be here at MR since it probably references DRM which is a verboten subject (as far as details) around here.

Yep it sure is there, but you'll find Nate's Article in The Digital Reader is the newer version.

I did the Sony-to-Kobo account transfer as a way of keeping my books available for redownload, should it ever be necessary. However, I have yet to buy any books from Kobo. I don't want to have to go through the hassle of downloading previews just to find out if it will work.

If Kobo wants Sony owners to buy books from them (and given that they went to all the trouble of account transfers, you'd think they would want this!) they should indicate clearly which books will work on Sony readers.

They should label books that are kepub so people know what they are buying I agree. Just as a heads up to others the book I have been having trouble with is: "The Cycle of Arawn: The Complete Epic Fantasy Trilogy." I've never had so much trouble just to enable a book to be read on my ereader.

You're right. They should. But until they do... what's wrong with taking the documented steps (posted several different times in several different threads including this one) to know for sure it's kepub-only before you buy?

I'd much rather buy elsewhere.

Perhaps eventually they will get the point, if enough people agree with me rather than you.

I'd rather buy elsewhere as well or just borrow from the library. Google looks like one of the few places left to get an epub.

Perhaps. Perhaps not.
Like I said before; the number of epub vendors offering downloadable files (from major publishers) for sideloading is dwindling. I'm not limiting my options and ditching another one over a couple of extra mouse-clicks. *shrugs*

Me too - I read a lot of library books and I've bought several books from http://www.booksamillion.com/ without any problems.

Nothing. If a person knows to take them. I did make sure that it showed the ereader icon at the bottom before I bought the two books. I figured that since it was there that everything was a ok as far as downloading the books. Perhaps there should be a sticky for such (if there isn't already) so people know where to look for such info. I mean that info. that is legal to post of course. I know some of it can't be due to DRM concerns.
