Do you bring a charger with you when traveling?

I always carry mine. It's kind of ridiculous but often I end up carrying my iPhone, iPad, laptop, and kindle and all their chargers. My iPhone and kindle both plug into a USB power brick with two USB cord slots though so it's not really a big deal though.

The iPhone, iPad, and Kindle will all charge from the iPad charger. Why carry all three chargers when one will do? Do you need to charge all three simultaneously?

I need two. A 6 hour plane flight with my little man using the iPad and me with my Kindle. The second is a precaution mind you.

A 2A power adapter is highly recommended. Most devices cap out at 1A or 1.2A, so they don't charge faster with a more powerful charger, but the ones that can draw so much power to charge (such as the Nexus 4) will benefit from it.

The device limits the power draw.
A 2Amp port can charge just about any USB charged device.

I have a 2+A charger with 2 USP ports. 1 for the Samsung, 1 for the phone/ear piece (micro USB)

Remember to Verify your charger works with the mains voltage where you will use it.

if the Label reads:
100-240V It will work without switching settings
120/240V This notation implies a switch or jumper must be set or the magic smoke will escape.

120V
or
240V are only designed for Singe voltage use


I have a second set of cords and a 12V charger that live in my car.

I often charge my phone and iPad at the same time. And often I also charge the powerpack also at the same time. So three chargers are kind of minimum. But I also always carry a charger in a pocket so I usually bring 4 chargers on a trip were I am using my iPad.
