Internet on Kindle - Page 4

I get the feeling Foxy does not know.

I have a K3 with 3G and WiFi. I had to add my Kindle to the routers list of acceptable devices so I could use the WiFi. Before I figured that out, I used the 3G. My money is on his Mom having a 3G version and she is using that.

Foxy, what does your Mom's Kindle show in the upper right hand corner when the internet is on? Does it show something for WiFi and 3G? Mine has both and will tell me when the WiFi is in use.

The Router is the box in your house that sends out the WiFi. Without a Router, there is no WiFi in your house. The router is connected to your main computer. It has no physical connection to your Kindle.

Ask mum to turn off router, and then see if kindle connects to the internet, IMO.

Foxy,

Look on the back of your mother's Kindle. There will be a serial number there, starting with a "B", followed by numbers and letters. Tell us what the first three characters after the letter "B" are. That will tell us what specific model it is. We need this information in order to be able to help you solve your problem.

I'm not at home but I can get it. But I won't be able to get you the information right away. When I turn my internet on it gives me bars the better the internet the more bars that are added

My Kindle doesn't have any of the B things. I looked at the back and it's blank

Do you have a device connected to your computer that is used to broadcast WiFi in your house? (aka a router)

Yes or no.
